NB: No foul weather clothing is included with the boat - only harnesses and life jackets, so we need to decide what wind-proof / water proof clothing we should tak ourselves.
Why is the inventory important?
We will need to check the inventory when we collect our boat and when we leave, and we pay for anything damaged or missing.
Checking the inventory is a great way to learn where everything is stored on the boat, as there will be many lockers, under seats and behind cushions where important items are stored and it really does help if you know roughly where they are, particularly at night.
I would expect that someone from the charter co will wait whilst we do the inventory and then leave to deal with anything that is missing.
Fairly obviously, when we are off in the islands, it will be difficult or impossible to obtain anything that we find is missing.
Personal sailing clothing
We will all need to source and bring suitable sailing clothing include something warm and waterproof just in case we meet bad weather or are out at night.
The most important item for everyone is a good pair of leather 2 or 3 eye deck shoes ideally with cut, not moulded, soles. Something like Sebago Docksiders or Sperry Topsiders are ideal, and they last for years, used as casual shoes.
The second item is a warm fleece.
The third is some windproof / waterproof clothing, I will do some research and come up with some recommendations when we meet in May.
Fourthly a pair of tough gloves can be very useful when handling anchor chains covered in mud, again I will do some research.
What follows is the boat's formal inventory including some of my notes and comments.
